Chronology's QuickBench Verification Suite Chosen by White Rock Networks For Testbench Creation and Verification

REDMOND, Wash., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Chronology Corporation, a leading supplier of interface design and testbench automation software, today announced that White Rock Networks of Richardson, Texas, has chosen Chronology's QuickBench® Verification Suite(TM) to automate the development of testbenches used to verify FPGAs and ASICs for White Rock Networks' evolutionary optical transport systems.

``White Rock Networks chose Chronology's QuickBench® for its power and ease of use. Not only has it been instrumental in the development of our methodology, but it has allowed our ASIC team to shorten the verification effort and keep our development cycle in check,'' said Mark Keefer, White Rock Networks' Manager of ASIC Design.

Chronology's QuickBench Verification Suite enables designers and verification engineers to develop and reuse complex testbenches for verifying their designs using VHDL or Verilog simulators. It is a structured, transaction-based solution providing a unified verification flow for block- and chip-level design. It consists of modular products available as an integrated solution for complete testbench generation or separately for integration with legacy verification environments. QuickBench Modeler(TM) is an intuitive timing diagram-based modeling system that is seamlessly coupled with QuickBench Sequencer(TM), a powerful transaction-based sequencing system. RAVE, a dataflow language for directed-random data generation and transaction level validation, is an integral part of the QuickBench Suite and is included with QB-Sequencer. The QuickDrive(TM) runtime simulator interface supports the use of the QuickBench system with popular Verilog and VHDL simulators.

Initially, QuickBench Sequencer(TM) was used to construct a configurable SONET framer model for data streams up to the OC-48 level. The dataflow architecture of the RAVE language allowed the model to be implemented quickly and easily while incorporating configurable features that allowed White Rock Networks to model their advanced network environment. The modularity of the RAVE language will allow the expansion of the model to the OC-192 level and beyond with little additional effort.

``Companies like White Rock Networks need a verification solution that can solve the most complex verification problems quickly and easily,'' said David Evans, Chronology's president. ``QuickBench Suite is extremely well suited for networking applications and companies like White Rock Networks are taking advantage of the power and ease-of-use of QuickBench for the functional verification of their next generation products.''

About White Rock Networks

White Rock Networks provides carriers with next generation optical transport systems that enable the delivery of high-speed services in metro areas. The unique architecture of White Rock's product family provides carriers with ``step function'' improvements in their capital and operating costs as well as the deployment flexibility of their metro area networks. Founded in November 1999, White Rock has rapidly expanded from its original six founders to over one hundred and fifty employees while raising over $40 million from some of the industry's premier venture capital companies.
